History on this one is a bit convoluted, so bear
with .
One of my long-term writing projects is a story called
a.i.g.m. It's nothings spectacular, and is essentially
a huge riff/rip on some of the ideas in Masamune Shirow's
Ghost in the Shell and Man Machine Interface mangas
(which you should check out if you haven't). I say
long-term cos I've got it sorta planned out, but I've
never gotten round to even starting to write it down
properly.
However, every so often I like to dust it down and
do some work on it. Now, through a bizarre set of
chance happenings, I was twiddling with a.i.g.m. whilst
I was searching through tonnes of stock photos. This
ended up in me producing my 'manhattan blue' wall
and it struck me that the lovely lady who's stock
I used for that was an identical match to the body
type I had for the main character in a.i.g.m.
The pose in her 'standing tall' stock, had a certain
something about it that also seemed to match the characters
attitude, and the rest, as they say, is history. |
